Richard's began his weather forecasting career in 1990. In 1995, he auditioned for a weather presenting job at BBC West. He got the job and is still the main weather presenter there. He can also be heard presenting the weather on various BBC local radio stations.
During the 1980s, Peter worked at BBC West in Bristol, presenting news bulletins and filling in as co-host on the main 'Points West' programme alongside Viv Creegor and Graham Purches.

In 1988 he moved to Granada TV In Manchester where he hosted the nightly 'Granada Action' social information programme; he also presented the breakfast show on Key 103 radio.

Peter now runs Bakermedia, a Stockport-based broadcast and business video production company. As well as non-broadcast projects for a variety of well-known clients, Bakermedia has produced thirty episodes of the children's hit show 'Prank Patrol'.

Hobbies: music writing. Peter has had c. fifteen songs released on various albums around the world.

Presenter, BBC Bristol's 'Points West', 1983 - 1985 then moved to London as a news reader on 'London Plus' in 1985. She became a London regional and national news reader on BBC TV's 'Breakfast Time', 1985 - 1986. BBC TV news reader on 'News Afternoon' and 'News View' from March 1986 until December 1986.

She left for ITN in June 1987 and stayed until June 1992. After this she was a relief presenter on ITV's 'The Time, The Place' in 1993. She was a news reader on BBC World in 1992 and since 1994 has been heard voicing 'Transworld Sports' on Channel 4.

Jeremy was a presenter on BBC 'Points West' in the early-1970s.
Sally started out in journalism in 1986. She trained as a journalist on the Weston Mercury - a weekly paper in Weston-Super-Mare. She later moved to an evening paper and then on to BBC local radio in Gloucestershire.

Next stop was BBC Bristol where she became a presenter on the regional news programme 'Points West'.

BBC Radio 4/BBC Radio 2 announcer 1980 - 1982 and in 1987. 'Breakfast Time' presenter on BBC Bristol's 'Points West', 1983 - 1988. Moved to London as BBC TV news reader on 'News Afternoon' and 'News View' in August/September 1983 and from March until May 1988.

She was an original member of the Sky News presenting team from February 1989.

Ian Fergusson is a weather presenter on BBC West - working across TV and local radio. He is also credited with appearances on a number of TV documentaries, including the BBC Two series 'Oceans', in his 'alter-ego' guise as a leading European shark biologist and shark conservationist.

Fergusson presents the weather on 'BBC Points West' and the region's radio stations; he first appeared in this role in April 2008. Previously, he had worked as a cameraman for the BBC in Bristol, winning a Royal Television Society award for camera work in 2006.

Educated in South Africa, Hertfordshire and Scotland, he is a Chartered Biologist and a Freeman of the City of London.

Hobbies: a Formula 1 motor-racing fanatic since childhood (never missed a race) and bass guitarist since aged 14.

Reporter, BBC Southampton's 'South Today', 1968 until 1976 and a presenter of the programme in 1988. He presented BBC Bristol's 'Points West' from 1976 to 1982. He was a BBC TV national news reader, July 1985 until October 1987 and between February 1988 until December 1997, appearing on the 'One O'Clock News', 'Six O'Clock News', 'Nine O'Clock News' and 'News View'. Also a presenter of BBC TV's 'Breakfast News' 1993 - TBC. More recently he has appeared on BBC News 24 and as one of the main anchors for the ITV News Channel.

Gerald was a presenter and reporter on BBC 'Points West' in the 1980s.
Tina was a presenter with BBC 'Points West' in 1982. In 1983, she joined Thames TV as news reader, becoming one of the main anchors there in 1985. She left Thames in 1985.

She later moved to Sky News to present the Wild West End strand within 'Live at Five'.

Sandi was a presenter on BBC South West's 'Spotlight' in the mid-1980s and BBC 'Points West' in the late-1980s. She was also a relief BBC TV news reader on 'News After Noon' from May 1983 until July 1983 and again from April 1984 until September 1984.

HTV West continuity announcer in the 1980s who can now be heard as an announcer on BBC Radio 4. She also co-anchored the BBC's 'Points West' in the early and mid-1990s.
Gillian Miles was a continuity announcer with TSW in the 1980s. She also presented on BBC 'Points West' (dates TBC) and BBC 'Spotlight' (late-1990s/early-2000s).
Saima studied politics at the University of Birmingham and also has a post-grad in Broadcast Journalism. She has worked for BBC Radio WM, BBC Greater Manchester Radio and the BBC World Service. Her TV credits include producer/reporter/presenter at Meridian TV, reporter for Sky News and Five News, and presenter with BBC 'Points West'.

Saima is currently working with ITV News as a presenter on the 'ITV Morning News'.

Westcountry viewers know her best as one of the long serving presenters of the BBC's highly popular 'Points West' news programme. But earlier in her career Susan could be found manning the continuity desk at HTV West. She has also presented the BBC's Norwich-based 'Look East' news programme (1985 - 1988).

Since the late-1990s, Susan has also covered overnight weekend shifts for BBC News 24 and BBC World.

Amanda has a first class degree in English from the University of Bristol. She started out making tea in a local radio newsroom. She moved to London to study for a post-graduate diploma in broadcast journalism. Work with 'Breakfast With Frost', BBC Radio 5 Live, ITN and local radio followed.

She later moved to the BBC in Bristol where she has been a producer, reporter and presenter. She has presented on 'Inside Out', 'Points West Lobby' and 'British Isles: A Natural History' among others.

Amanda is currently a senior reporter and presenter with BBC West's 'Points West'.

Kylie is a presenter on BBC 'East Midlands Today'. Her journalistic career started in newspapers; she later moved into broadcasting. She has worked in a number of areas of the BBC, as a video journalist and presenter, including a period with BBC 'Points West' in Bristol.


Mike originally studied to be a Catholic priest and produced a video about world religions. When he realised that the priesthood wasn't for him, he turned his attentions to airlines and became cabin crew with British Airways.

In 1998, he joined BBC South as a weather presenter. He later presented the breakfast bulletins at BBC South as well as presenting the drivetime slot on BBC Radio Solent.

In 2004, Mike joined BBC West as a reporter and presenter on 'Points West'.

Graham was a presenter on BBC 'Points West' in the 1970s.
Gwyn was a presenter on 'ATV Today' in the 1970s and then BBC 'Points West'. He later moved to the BBC at Pebble Mill in Birmingham where he was a network radio producer.

Angela started her journalistic career in newspapers in Devon and later became an established TV reporter/presenter with BBC Plymouth's 'Spotlight' programme (1966 - 1969). She also presented on BBC 'Points West' (dates TBC).

Westward headhunted her to edit and present its new women's interest programming. She edited a new programme for women, 'Open House', and also produced some children's programming, including 'Young Eyes', which gave fellow WTV presenter David Rodgers his big break on TV.

Angela was also seconded to report and present for 'Westward Diary' and stayed with the company for four years before leaving to pursue a high profile national broadcasting career.

She moved to London and joined BBC TV as a home reporter, 1973 - 1975, then moved into newsreading from August 1974 until January 1981. Presenter BBC TV's 'The Antiques Roadshow', 1980 - 1981. She helped set up TV-am as one of the original "Famous Five", but left after a bitter boardroom battle shortly after the company started in 1983.

Afterwards she worked for a while in America and returned to the UK to present a wide range of programmes, including quiz shows and holiday programmes. From 1988 - 1991 she presented the long running 'Come Dancing' series and more recently has reported for the BBC TV's 'Watchdog Healthcheck'. She also presents the breakfast programme on LBC radio in London. And who could ever forget that famous dancing sketch on the 'Morecambe And Wise Christmas Show' in the late-1970s?

Imogen started out as a reporter with the Bath Chronicle in 1997. Later positions held include news reader at Bath FM and reporter/presenter at HTV West.

In January 2001, Imogen joined BBC West. She is the regular presenter of the breakfast editions of 'Points West' and provides holiday cover for the main evening programme presenters.

Roy was a BBC Wales continuity announcer in the 1980s; he also read 'Wales Today' bulletins. Roy has also presented with BBC 'Points West' (1980s) and BBC 'London Plus' (1986 - 1989).

Beverley began her BBC career with BBC Wales where she worked as a presenter and reporter for BBC 'Wales Today'. She later worked on BBC 'Points West' and 'Look North' at BBC North East and Cumbria.

Beverley has also worked for BBC 'Breakfast News', 'Woman's Hour' on BBC Radio 4 and she has presented on BBC World.

She joined BBC 'South East Today' as health correspondent in 2000; in 2001, she became one of the regular co-presenters on the programme.

Chris was educated at Sherborne School and the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth, where he joined the navy in 1969 as a seaman officer.

In 1981, he decided that he needed a career change; he wanted to get into broadcast journalism. He started working with Bristol Hospital Radio in order to pick up the technical side of the job. Whilst there, he wrote to local radio stations around the country.

BBC Radio Bristol gave him an opportunity to learn the ropes. After a year in the Bristol newsroom, Chris turned his sights to television and became a freelance reporter; he also did some basic newsreading. In 1983, he was appointed as a presenter with BBC 'Points West'.

One of Ali's first jobs was as a bus driver in Bath. She later studied for a degree in media studies in Coventry. Subsequent jobs included working as a secretary in the BBC director general's office at Television Centre in London and working in the community unit at the BBC in Bath.

However, fame on the airwaves wasn't far away; Ali joined BBC Radio Bristol as an early morning presenter. She then made the move to television, joining BBC South West's 'Spotlight' as a reporter and presenter.

Ali currently presents on 'Weekend West' every Saturday morning on BBC Radio Bristol as well as reporting and presenting for BBC 'Points West'.

Sheila was a presenter on BBC 'Points West' in the 1970s.
